Experimenting
TUR is also trying to do some experimenting when it comes to using different protocols for content distribution. These pages are accessible using the next version of the Internet Protocol, IPv6, and the music is simultaniously streamed as IPv4/IPv6 unicast (shoutcast) and multicast.
If you are using Microsoft Windows and want to play with IPv6 you could have a look at Frequently Asked Questions from Microsoft TechNet.
On Mac OS X and Linux IPv6 should usually be activated by default, but no matter what operating system you are using your network provider have to support IPv6 for this to work. The same goes for multicast. In Norway you most likely will be able to access multicast services if you are located at a higher educational institution, but when it comes to commercial ISPs the situation is usually not so.
If you are accessing TUR using IPv6 you will get a button saying "IPv6 Enabled" here [...], but if you are using plain old IPv4 you will get this text instead.
